Creative Writing

An introduction to basic photo manipulation techniques using Adobe Photoshop CS2. Basic creative problem solving, graphic design and visual communication are explored through the use of digital media.

Concert Steel Drums
Open to students by audition or consent of instructor.  Designed for students who have developed substantial skills in steel drums, drum set, or any other musical instrument.  This concert oriented class plays a variety of styles of music for audiences throughout the Flint area.  The band usually takes one major (out-of-state) trip each year.

Actor's Studio I                                     
Acting course intended for motivated beginning actors.  Beginning voice, movement, monologue and scene work.  Performances in class a final evening culminating performance.

Advanced acting course intended for experienced and motivated actors.  Continued work on voice, movement, monologue and scene study.  Scene studies will focus on American Drama. Introduction to improvisation games and skills.  Performances in class and a final evening culminating performance.

Drama Appreciation
Lecture and reading based survey course intended for beginning drama students that covers acting, directing, playwriting, costume and set design.  Students will have active projects for each unit.  Some performance required.

Musical Theatre Workshop                              
A combined theatre and dance class.  Students will be expected to act, sing and dance.  Students will create a performance project based on a theme that weaves the threads of interpretative movement and voice together.  This is a performance class for experienced actors and dancers.
